This week’s newsletter summarizes several questions and answers from the Bitcoin Stack Exchange and describes notable changes to popular Bitcoin infrastructure projects. Also included are our regular sections with popular questions and answers from the Bitcoin Stack Exchange, announcements of new releases and release candidates, and descriptions of notable changes to popular Bitcoin infrastructure projects. Please report any problems you discover so that they can be fixed before the final release. If the first 18 months of the activation period passes without activation (but also without any blocking problems being discovered), new releases can enable this option by default for the remaining 24 months of the activation period. Bitcoin Stack Exchange is one of the first places Optech contributors look for answers to their questions-or when we have a few spare moments to help curious or confused users. This week’s newsletter requests help testing the next version of LND, summarizes a discussion about soft fork activation mechanisms, and describes a few notable changes to popular Bitcoin infrastructure software. CHECKTEMPLATEVERIFY proposal. Also included is our regular section about notable code and documentation changes. Following some IRC discussion by several participants, Anthony Towns replied with a suggested alternative: scripts that are susceptible to this problem should have their branches separated into multiple taproot leaves each with just one code branc
p>
p> With miniscript telling the wallet what it needs to do, wallet developers don’t need to write new code when they switch from one script template to another. Corallo also worries that using BIP8 from the start of a soft fork deployment gives the impression that the developers of node software get to decide the rules of the system. Providing a descriptor here makes it easier for the user (or a program that is calling this RPC) to get all the information they need to not only monitor for payments received to the created address but to also later create unsigned transactions which start the process of spending that money. Node software can prepare for this maximum 42-month process by including, even in its initial versions, a configuration option that users can manually enable to enforce the BIP8 flag day if necessary. But even those coins may not be accepted in the future. 684 updates BOLT7 to suggest that nodes send their own generated announcements even when the remote peer requests a filter that would suppress that announcement. 751 updates BOLT7 to allow nodes to announce multiple IP addresses of a given type (e.g. IPv4, IPv6, or Tor). Bitcoin Core monitoring for alternative addresses. A final discussion covered how and when to attempt to get BIP119 activated, including when a PR for it should be opened to the Bitcoin Core repository, what activation mechanism it should use (e.g. BIP9 versionbits), and what range of activation dates would be appropriate if it uses a miner-activated soft fork mechanism such as BIP9. In the responses to the post, Jorge Timón and Luke Dashjr both proposed that any BIP8-like mechanism use mandatory versionbits signaling leading up to the flag day (similar to how BIP148 proposed to activate segwit); Corallo notes that this conflicts with the third and fourth goals. As an alternative to either BIP9 or 바이낸스 입금시간, Our Web Page, BIP8 alone, Corallo proposes a three-step process: use BIP9 to allow a proposal to be activated within a one-year window; pause for a six-month discussion period if the proposal is not activated; and-if it’s clear that the community still wants the proposal activated-force activation using a BIP8 flag day set to two years in the future (with faster activation possible using versionbits signaling). Yet, the U.S. arm still supports some BEP-2 tokens. Leveraged tokens are a great way to get a simple leveraged exposure to a cryptocurrency
p>
Experienced users are encouraged to help test for any regressions or other unexpected behavior. Experienced users are encouraged to help test the software so that any problems can be identified and fixed prior to release. ● Bitcoin Core 0.20.0rc1 the first release candidate for the next major version of Bitcoin Core is available for testing by experienced users. ● Why does the banscore default to 100? Towns also described why committing only to the position might not guarantee protection against repositioned signatures. AMP is harder for routing nodes to distinguish from normal single-part payments and can guarantee that the receiver either claims all parts of the payment or none of it. This ensures that multi-homed nodes can better inform the network of their network connectivity. This can help ensure that a node gets announced to the network via its direct peers without otherwise changing how filtering works. ● Help test Bitcoin Core 0.19.1rc1: this upcoming maintenance release includes several bug fixes. Please consider upgrading to new releases or helping to test release candidates. ● Help test LND 0.9.0-beta-rc1: this pre-release of the next major version of LND brings several new features
bug fixes. -
